medialinks_logoConnecticut, USA — Media Links, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Global Links, the market leader in broadcast and network transport over IP solutions, will showcase several of its new solutions in an application that targets the content transport requirements of broadcasters and network carriers.

Centered around the H.264 compression video encoding technology implemented into its video transmission solutions, Media Links will be at CCW booth 912, showcasing its ProMD Network Management Software, MDX 2040 IP Router, and MD8000 video over IP media transport solutions.

H.264 is a high quality compression standard used in broadcast contribution, live sports contribution, media exchange and distribution, and video over IP applications. It’s a codec that has been optimized for high-quality, low bandwidth, lower bit rate applications. Due to its flexibility it can be applied to a variety of applications on a wide variety of networks and systems.

The Media Links MDX IP router enables the routing of a mix of IP video signals and standard files formats over an IP network. Its integrated Layer 3 switch enables bandwidth control according to usage, which enables bandwidth to be utilized effectively. The IP Video Router enables the management of large-scale file-based systems including 4K content. It also features highly reliable, advanced control and monitoring systems, which are a requirement for demanding broadcast station and video over IP network applications.

The MD8000 family addresses the need for carriers to connect directly to native IP networks for long-haul, multiple-wavelength transport links, which results in significant cost savings. The MD8000 has been used

The robust ProMD NMS Software is a comprehensive tool for media network management, scheduling, operational monitoring, and alarm management. As a centralized Server/Client hardware/software package with full redundancy, it enables the remote control and management of the entire topology of network elements.

Broadcasters and network service providers will have the opportunity to review an example of a fully managed video & data transport solution that is currently being deployed by a large-scale Telco in various broadcasting facilities and sporting venues throughout the United States. The demonstrations will illustrate an adaptable, affordable and flexible solution for transporting uncompressed or compressed HD-SDI, SD-SDI and DVB-ASI video protocols. It will reflect an efficient and robust transport offering that can be deployed in a variety of network applications that require high quality pixel-perfect content delivery.

Media Links will be at CCW booth 912.
