Is Your Data Safer in the Cloud?
Speaker: Loren Hudziak, Solutions Architect, Google Federal
Cloud computing represents a significant opportunity for organizations to reduce costs and improve worker productivity. In particular, public cloud messaging and collaboration applications can enable users to communicate from anywhere on any device, while reducing the amount of infrastructure the IT team needs to support. In this session, Hudziak will explore opportunities to deploy cloud computing solutions, how to assess security, privacy and other risk factors and how Google addresses these issues. He will also review how the General Services Administration (GSA), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and National Archives have successfully transitioned to using the cloud to store data and connect their employees to the information they need.
Loren Hudziak is a Google Solutions Architect having worked in the IT industry for 17 years. He initially started as an application developer and DBA, gradually shifting to big data and analytics solutions. Prior to Google, he worked on numerous commercial and government systems through his work at Oracle, Borland and Netezza/IBM. He holds BS and MS degrees in Computer Science and Information Systems from American University.
