Where have you been Pierce Brosnan? Where?? Did you really need to take time off from being an on screen bad ass to do Love Is All You Need and I Don’t Know How She Does It? Wrong choices my friend. Wrong. While you were away, Liam Neeson, Jason Statham, and Daniel Craig have picked up the slack in suit-wearing, ass-kicking characters who deliver Tweetable one liners “…I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career…” Is that more than 140 characters?
Whatever the reason, you’ve returned, playing Peter Deverauex in The November Man. So what is it this time? Oh, you’re an extremely dangerous and highly trained ex-CIA agent who has to get “back in the game” to protect a key witness. Sweet. Is the witness an attractive female? Yep. Olga Kurylenko, talented and gorgeous. Good start. What else?
Roger Donaldson directed, who also did The Bank Job and Thirteen Days, both fantastic movies. Cinematographer Romain Lacourbas (Columbiana, Transporter 3) framed the film with Arri Alexa Plus and Hawk V-Lite Vinage ’74 lenses, mixer Stéphane Bucher (Taken 2) recorded the production dialogue, and picture editor John Gilbert (Killer Elite) pieced it all together. There seems to be a Statham-Neeson theme going on amongst the crew… so you’re saying there’s a chance it will be good? You be the judge – watch the trailer below.
